Timeless Turmeric Golden Milk
On the Japanese island of Okinawa, turmeric tea is a way of life. The population drinks this traditional favorite daily, and numerous studies have linked turmeric with wide-ranging anti-inflammatory effects. Perhaps this helps to explain why the people of Okinawa have one of the world’s longest average life spans: 81.2 years.
Heat 2 cups light unsweetened coconut milk, almond, soy or another plant based milk. Beware of regular dairy milks which have been known to have casein in them.
1 tablespoon peeled, grated fresh ginger or powdered ginger
1 tablespoon Timeless Turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coconut oil
3-4 black ground peppercorns. Bring to a simmer and simmer covered for 10 minutes. Strain, pour contents into a blender and blend for 30 seconds on low. You can sweeten to taste with agave nectar, stevia, honey (if desired). Pour this magical elixir into your mug and drink nightly. Be careful as contents will be hot.
